Here's how you build a sand puddle:
1. First, find a flat bowl. We used the bottom of a planting container and an old paint tray.
2. Dig a hole as big as you want the sand puddle. Choose somewhere in your garden that is sunny. Somewhere near flowers is best.
3. Get some sand.
4. Put the bowl in the hole, then fill it with sand.
5. Get some water.
6. Fill your butterfly puddle with water.
7. Put flat rocks all around it. Butterflies like to stand on rocks to drink.
8. Optional: We also decorated it with flowers. It looks like a beautiful butterfly paradise.
* Make sure to add a little dose of water every day (if you can!)
Look for these kinds of butterflies:
Oregon Silverspot Butterfly
Monarch Butterfly
Painted Lady Butterfly
Thanks for helping butterflies!
